Application Process
Applications to the Ethics Committee of KIT for the Assessment of Research Projects
The Ethics Committee assesses individual research projects when ethical concerns arise, or when researchers express their desire for an ethical review. A positive vote by the Ethics Committee is often required for third party funding or the publication of research results.
In order to submit a request for assessment of a research project to the Ethics Committee, please fill out the application form (see box "Application forms"). Send the filled and signed form to Valerie Boda; attach also all further relevant documents (e.g. questionnaires, declarations of consent, information for test subjects etc.). Please send the forms in individual PDF documents and respect the given deadline.
If the research project involves processing personal data, the data protection officer must be involved as early as possible in accordance with Art. 38 (1) GDPR. The contact person is the responsible employee in the Data Protection Office (DSB). (Notes: A mere entry in the eVV is not sufficient; you have to send an email to DSB. Please submit Word files, which allow for editing.) DSB requires an examination time of (at least) three weeks. Please respect the given deadline.
The person responsible for the organization of the Ethics Committee is Valerie Boda. Please contact her, if you have any questions about the application process or about the organization of the ethics committee.
